Jon Maurice Otis

Jon Maurice Otis, 75, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, from heart issues.

Jon was born in New Orleans, LA, on October 5, 1945, to the late Albert Maurice Otis and Dorothy Maude Mackey Otis. 

In 1963 Jon graduated from Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, LA, where he played clarinet and saxophone in the marching and concert bands. He attended Southeastern University and became an Electronic Technician at Bellsouth for 28 years, a business owner of Armstrong-McCall Beauty Supply, a Real Estate Agent at Keller Williams in Mandeville, LA, and later worked for Northshore Harley Davidson in Slidell, LA. He loved motorcycles and was a lifetime member of the Harley Davidson HOG group. Aside from motorcycles, Jon loved cars, boats, music, nature, Native American traditions, and cherished time with his family.

Surviving Jon is his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth “Ann” Slack; daughter, Tonya Booksh (Glenn) of Covington, LA; son, Jason Otis of Helena, AL; grandsons, Logan Booksh of New Orleans, LA, Malachi Booksh of Covington, LA; granddaughters, Madeline Booksh Lohman of Covington, LA; Emily and Ashleigh Otis of Helena, AL; great-grandchildren, Luke, Lola, and Stella Lohman all of Covington, LA.

His family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
