John Benjamin Fields, 59, of Black Mountain, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the Solace Center in Asheville, NC. Born on June 14, 1962 in Atlanta, GA, he was a son of the late Robert Fields and Elise Fields. He was a graduate of Rabun County High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Taking his children fishing and camping were among his favorite things to do. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Scottie Fields. Surviving are his children, John Pierce Fields of Tiger, GA, Erica Marie Fields of Franklin, NC, and Macy Armeita Campros of Tiger, GA; siblings, Bobby-Lynn Fields, Doug Fields, Mike Fields, and Pat Fields and his spouse, Toni, all of Clayton, GA, Peggy James and her spouse, Russell, of Scaly Mtn., NC, and Jason Fields of Clayton, GA; grandchildren, Jazman Fields, Hunter Fields, Armaita Berrier all of Clayton, GA, and Braydon Dickerson of Franklin, NC; nephew, Brandon Fields of Clayton, GA; and niece, Anna Fields of Clayton, GA. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
