Jo Anna “JoAnna” Grebouski Harris, 72, of Brevard, NC, passed away April 18, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
JoAnna was born September 16, 1952 to the late Joseph Grebouski and Charlotte Rae Knicely Grebouski. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Harris, son, George “Bobby” Menas, and cousin, Sylva Ann Edwards.
JoAnna graduated from Monongah High School. Worked in behavioral health management and in her later years as a certified nurse assistant before she retired. Her interests and hobbies included her fifty-eleven kids and their kids. She was very talented at playing the piano and enjoyed classical music, singing and the arts. JoAnna loved cooking, baking, interior design, gardening, animals and nature. You could find her smoking a cigarette, maybe having a glass of wine. JoAnna kept herself busy with playing games, solving puzzle books, and watching TV while enjoying good food with a great dessert (she loved her sweets). She was the most precious, selfless, fun, loving, eccentric, classy, very witty, humorous, curious, intelligent, fashionable, strong-willed, and beautiful on the inside and out kind of woman. JoAnna was very giving, understanding, talented, and warming. She will be missed so very much by so many.
Surviving JoAnna are her sons, Joseph Michael Menas(Katherine) of Ravenswood, WV, Jeffrey Merrice Menas(Alicia) of Lyman, SC, Richard David Dangott II of Huttonsville, WV; daughters, Mellisa JoAnna Menas of Spartanburg, SC, Weslea Danelle Dangott (Emily Reyes) of Brevard, NC; brother, Don Fitzwater of Fairmont, WV; sister, Charlene Collins (Monte) of Monumental, WV, Faith Haught (Chuck) of Moody Run, WV; grandchildren, Joseph David Menas, Preston Moses Menas, Austin Noah Menas, Jeffrey Allen Menas, Merrissa Leigh Menas, Robert Wayne Haywood Menas, Isaiah Orlando Martinez, Angelina JoAnna Maldonado, Isabella Tiffany Terry, Andrew Robert Menas, Alyssa Nicole Menas, Darren Ballard, Kyle Menas; great grandchildren, Colson Michael Menas, Korbyn Alexander Menas, AvangelineIntegra Buckley, Abram Grayson Menas; nieces, Erika, Alexis, Ashley; nephews, Chad, Jarred, Timothy; fur- grandchildren Pearly Mae, Tiny, Little (all cats), and her favorite: a bird we called “Bad Bird”.
