Jo Ann Crabbe, 88, passed away on May 10, 2025, in Buncombe County, North Carolina.
Born on August 8, 1936, Jo Ann graduated from Russellville High School before earning her Bachelor's degree in Education from The Ohio State University. Her passion for teaching took her overseas, where she taught for the U.S. Army in Okinawa and France. Upon returning to the United States, she continued her career in Long Beach, California.
Eventually settling back in Columbus, Ohio, Jo Ann pursued further education and earned a Master’s Degree in Education Counseling from OSU. She went on to serve as a teacher and counselor within the Columbus City School system until her retirement. Even after retiring, her dedication to education endured; she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and continued working with children through ABC Educational Services.
Jo Ann was predeceased by her parents, Warren and Lydia Dugan Crabbe; and her sister and brother-in-law, Judith Crabbe Boone and Mahlon Boone.
She is lovingly remembered by her niece Sheila Colarik (Tim) of Leavittsburg, OH; nephew Joseph Boone of St. Louis, MO; niece Mickie Raymer (Adam Clark) of Candler, NC; and niece Charlie Doble (Chris) of Fort Stewart, GA.
