Wilma “Jean” Metcalf Sinclair, age 85, of Weaverville, NC passed away on November 4, 2025. Jean was born in Madison County, NC on December 29, 1939 to the late Woodson Jake Metcalf and Roxie Marie Metcalf.
Jean held both a Bachelors Degree and a Master’s Degree from Wake Forest University. She was a teacher in the Winston-Salem, NC public school system, and was an avid squaredancer.
Jean is survived by her beloved companion, John Moore, her daughter, Jean McKnight, of Greenville, SC, her grandsons, Forrest Sinclair McKnight and William Michael McKnight, and her brother, Clifton Metcalf and his wife Marie.
A burial will take place at the Brown/Ray family cemetery in Mars Hill, NC.
The family wishes to thank neighbor and dear friend, Elizabeth Autry, for the kind and joyful care she provided to Jean in her last years.”
