James "Jimmy" Lester Dickson

James Lester “Jimmy” Dickson (37) of Asheville, North Carolina passed away December 21, 2021. James was born April 7, 1984 to Lester Lee Dickson of Alpharetta, Georgia and Sara Frances Magruder of Dawsonville, Georgia. James is preceded in death by his Grandfather James Tyler Magruder, his Grandmother Frances Craig Magruder and Father in-law Dana Ray Phillips. James graduated from AB-Tech as well as UNCA with a bachelors in sociology. James was passionate about many things in life and enjoyed experiencing life one moment at a time. He loved helping others, working on cars, and keeping up with world events. He craved knowledge and was constantly seeking out ways to be more educated in the fields he studied. He also had a great love for animals, especially his cat Jameson. James leaves behind his loving wife Vanessa Rae Philips of Asheville, North Carolina. James is survived by his sisters: Sara Kathryn Massey (Johnny) of Dawsonville, Georgia, Christine Dickson Mason (Brandon) of Dahlonega, Georgia, Vanessa Nicole Ross, Victoria Marie Ross ( Steven) of Cumming, Georgia, Kaitlyn Frances Ross of Dawsonville, Georgia and brother Travis James Ross of Dawsonville, Georgia .James also leaves behind His Grandmother and Grandfather Harold and Yvonne Dickson of Decatur, Georgia, His uncles: Ernie Dickson of Kingsport, Tennessee, Glenn Dickson of Charlotte, North Carolina, his Aunt Vonda Gardiner of Billings Montana and Mother in-law Shirley Phillips of Walton, Kentucky. James is also survived by his Nieces: Riley Sara Ross, Nova Christine Prior and nephews: Silas Lee Massey, Ace Jeffery Matthew Jarrard, Travis Jayce Ross and Joah Reid Massey. Visitation services will be held Wednesday December 29, 2021 at 12pm followed by a memorial service officiated by Jay Joslin.
