Jack Donald Wallin Jr.
Jack Donald Wallin Jr., 57, of Marshall, NC, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, Jack Donald Wallin Sr.; mother, Frances Chandler; son, Brett Wallin; and brother, Roy Wallin.
Jack graduated from Madison High School in 1982. He proudly served our country in the US Navy for 20 years as a UAV External Pilot. Jack was a veteran of the first Gulf War in 1991. After serving he received a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Later After his service in the Navy, he worked for the US government as a civilian for the US Army and later became the Mayor of Marshall, NC. Jack loved unmanned airplanes (drones), Appalachian folk music (his father, uncle, and grandparents recorded ballads and stories), and sending too much candy to his grandkids.
Surviving Jack is his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Jane Pressley Wallin; son, Charlie Wallin (Whitney) of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Elizabeth Wallin of Baltimore, MD; grandson, Henry Wallin of Baltimore, MD; mother-in-law, Betty Pressley of Marshall, NC; and uncle and aunt, JJ and Janie Chandler of Marshall, NC.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 31st at 3pm on the island in Marshall, NC. Please come as you are, and bring a lawn chair. Anyone who wants to share a story or song is welcome to do so.
