Howard Glenn Blevins, 77, of Asheville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Elderberry Healthcare in Marshall. Born on December 5, 1940 in Asheville, he was a son of the late William E. Blevins and Ada Silver Blevins. He was a graduate of North Buncombe H.S. class of 1959. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with a special love for fox hunting with his friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara McCowan, Paul, Max, and Don Blevins. Surviving are his children, Karen Blevins of Asheville, Bruce Blevins and spouse, Paula, of Alexander, Glenda Blevins Conley and spouse, David, of Mills River, and Michael Blevins and his life partner, Rhonda Metcalf, of Asheville; siblings, Charles Blevins of Marshall and Lewis Blevins and spouse, Lita, of Mars Hill; five grandchildren of Asheville, and one grandchild of Charlotte, N.C. and three-great grandchildren. A service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Pleasant Grove Union Church Cemetery with the family receiving friends an hour prior at Pleasant Grove Union Church in Weaverville. Rev. Raymond Cook will officiate.
