Henry “Hank” Leolani Kendall, 67, of Marshall, NC, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on May 25th after a long illness. Funeral services will be private, an unofficial public reception will be held at Iron and Oak Brisket Co. on May 29th at 4pm.
Hank was born on April 16, 1957, and grew up in Springfield, VA. He loved to ride a good Harley-Davidson motorcycle (not the other kinds), and learned to work on his Harley and cars under the direction of his father, Bill Sr., and his older brother, Bill Jr. He worked as a mechanic and was always willing to help his family when needed. He will be remembered as a good friend who never hesitated to speak his mind and for his sarcastic sense of humor. He loved to turn on a good ole country western movie, watch a Nascar race, and listen to Elvis Pressley and other oldies music. Hank’s smile could light up a room as he loved to laugh and have a good time. Though some may have found him rough around the edges, he had a heart of gold which knew no limits.
Hank is survived by his sister, Ellen Aller (Larry); by his partner and caretaker: Nancy Zupa, and her son, Delton Loveless; nieces and nephews: Billy, Danny, Donna, Erich, Micky, Jenny, Michael, Echo, and Jim; great nieces and nephews: Andrew, Perry, Sierra, Bryce, Melia, Seth, Mollie, Hannah, Jacob, Kai, Joshua, Paizlee, Garrett, and Ollie; and other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Eileen Kendall, Sr.; stepmother Marty Kendall, and brother, Bill Kendall, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North Carolina Pomeranian Rescue: https://pomeranian.rescueme.org/NorthCarolina. Hank’s buddy, Teddy, was a little Pomeranian and was his constant companion.
