Hassie Lundy passed away on January 12, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. Hassie was born in Madison County, NC on January 19, 1935, to the late John and Viana Dockery.
Known affectionately as "Mama Hassie," a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and woman of God. She was always there to help whenever she was needed, whether it was day or night, Hassie never hesitated to offer a prayer for anyone seeking comfort or guidance.
We are so grateful for the memories Mama Hassie left behind and the countless lives she touched with her strong faith, character, and ministry. She was a woman of many talents the best among them being cooking. She found great joy in singing and playing the guitar, and traveling.
Hassie was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Lundy; her parents, John and Viana Dockery; her sons, David, Jeff, and Paul Henry Roberts; her daughters, Carolyn Fain and Jewell Roberts; and her brother, Elmer Dockery.
Her memory will be kept alive by those she leaves behind, including her sons, James Edward Roberts and Carl Stephen Roberts (Gail); her grandson, Terry Curry (Keela); and her granddaughters, Amanda and Amber Caudill. She also leaves behind a large circle of extended family and dear friends who were blessed to have known her.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her two sons, James and Steve, and her loving grandchildren, Terry (Keela) and Amber, for helping to make Mama Hassie’s end-of-life journey a loving, happy, and peaceful time.
The family will be having a Celebration of life at a later time when the family is ready.
