It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Alan Morganstein, age 65, on April 1, 2025. Guy was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and cherished friend to many. His vibrant spirit and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
An outdoor enthusiast, Guy found joy in hiking, biking, and running. His love for life extended to music and dance, where he embraced the rhythms of Zydeco, Swing, and Contra Dancing. For years, he shared his passion by playing the banjo and later the guitar.
Guy’s professional life was dedicated to helping others as a Mental Health Therapist for over three decades. He was a source of hope and healing for countless individuals, embodying compassion and kindness throughout his career.
Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 25 years ago, Guy faced life’s challenges with remarkable resilience and positivity. In recent years, mobility adjustments became necessary, yet his spirit remained unshaken. His passing, unrelated to his MS, may be seen as a grace that spared him the illness's late stages. Up until his final days, Guy’s humor and vitality shone through as he strummed the air and “played” his beloved guitar with a smile.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Chauncy; his stepson, Owen Chauncy; his mother, Ann Switken Morgenstein; his stepmother, Becky Morgan; and his siblings, Robby, Eve, and Ted. Guy was predeceased by his father, Bennett Morganstein.
Guy will forever be remembered by the many lives he touched. His memory lives on in the melodies of his music and in the hearts of those who picture him atop a mountain, basking in the view with a guitar or banjo in hand.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer, with details to be shared at a later date.
