Gregory (Greg) Alan Gaines (61) of Black Mountain, North Carolina passed away November 18, 2021. Gregory was born on January 9,1960 to David William Benton of Gary, Indiana and to Karen Ruth Cooper Nottke of Seabring, Florida. Greg is preceded in death by his sister Connie Houston, his grandmother Virginia Helms and his dad David Benton. Greg leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years Cathy Gaines, 4 sons Greg Gaines Jr. (wife April Webb), David Gaines (wife Kira Gaines), Eric Gaines, and Michael Gaines (wife Alycia Gaines) also his 2 daughters Genna Carter (husband K.C. Carter), and Summer Barnette (husband Christopher Barnette). Greg is also survived by his Grandsons; Logan Gaines, Caleb Webb, Nick Webb, Damien Richardson, Austin Gaines, Christopher Carter, Johnathan Sloan, Ian Gaines, and Bryson Barnette and Granddaughters; Sierra Gaines, Hailey Gaines, Autumn Gaines, Layla Gaines, and Cadence Barnette. Greg also leaves behind his brother Steve Benton, and mother Karen Nottke. Greg was a kind, caring, and loving man. Greg passed no judgement on anyone, and accepted everyone. Greg will truly be missed by many.
