Grady Carl Gardner

Grady Carl “Buddy” Gardner, age 65, of Weaverville, NC passed away on July 23, 2023 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.  Grady was born on August 13, 1957 to Patricia Anne Parris Vinson and the late Javard Dean Gardner.  
Grady attended Asheville High School. He was the head groundskeeper at McCormick Field.  Grady furthered his career as a certified HVAC technician and building maintenance supervisor.  He was a proud father who loved collecting guns, playing guitar, country line dancing, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Grady is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucy Grice Adams, and his grandfather, John Berry Grice.  He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Hopkins (Richard), of Burlington, NC, and Joy Gardner (Joe), of Weaverville, NC; his sisters, Mary Campbell and Sharon Crews; his grandchildren, Ethan Hopkins, Adam Chandley, Katie Chandley, Noah Quinlan; nephew, Scott Odom, and nieces, Leora Driver and Tammy Carr.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.  The burial will take place at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville, NC.  The family would like to give a special thank you to the ICU and Pulmonary Unit at Mission Hospital.
