Gordon Ronald Wales, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
Born in Newark, NJ, on November 24, 1950, he was the son of the late Roy Wesley Wales and Dorann DeNegris Vacca Wales. Gordon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, including service during the Gulf War. After a distinguished career, he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Outside of his military service, Gordon was an avid photography enthusiast who found beauty in capturing the world through his lens.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Deborah Ann Smith Wales; his sisters, Sally Shoals of Audubon, PA, and Pamela Barnes (David Jablonski) of Colorado Springs, CO; and his brother, Wayne Wales (Judy) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Sheryl DeNauw (Daniel) of Lanconia, NH; and his nieces, Lana Lee (Rob) of Boynton Beach, FL, and Paige Wales of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and his nephews, Blake and Parker Wales of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Cooper DeNauw of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Tyler DeNauw (Laurie) of Lanconia, NH.
