It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenda Dean Meadows, age 71, on May 4, 2026, at the Elizabeth House (Four Seasons Hospice). Glenda was a native of Buncombe County, born on February 25, 1955, to the late Harley Franklin Cox and Allie Jo Cox.
She was a long-time resident of Weaverville, where she lived for the past 7 years. Glenda was a retired cook who found great joy in preparing meals for others. She also cherished working outside in her yard, especially planting flowers. Glenda enjoyed watching her all-time favorite TV show, General Hospital. Above all, she adored her two beloved dogs, Hank and Dolly, who brought her immense happiness and companionship.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Franklin Cox and Jackie Dale Cox; her sister, Barbara Jo Cox; and her grandson, Bobby Caleb Landis.
She is survived by her four children, Cynthia Meadows (Rick) and Stacey Meadows (Misty) of Leicester, NC, and Amanda Meadows (Matt) and Nicholas Burleson (Dallas) of Weaverville, NC. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Cox, and her sisters, Dorothy Pruitt and Linda Hicks, all of Asheville, NC.
Her legacy lives through her grandchildren: Chris, Jessica, Tyler, Syerra, Hannah, Connor, Bri, Fayth, Zyander, Xavier, Hayden (Hay Hay), and Thomas (Tommy Pickles), as well as ten great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind memories that will be held close and passed down for generations, reminding everyone that love lasts far beyond departing this world.
