Gary Dean Wolfe

Gary Dean Wolfe, 73, of Asheville, NC, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the CarePartners Solace Center. Born December 17, 1952, in Buncombe County, Gary was the son of the late Thomas Edgar Wolfe Jr. and Joann Yoder Wolfe.

A 1970 graduate of Erwin High School, Gary spent his career as a skilled journeyman welder. Outside of work, he was an avid sports fan who found his greatest peace at the beach.

He is survived by his son, Scott Wolfe (Beth) of Weaverville, NC; daughter, Kristi Wolfe Ball of Erwin, TN; brother, James “Bub” Wolfe of Forsyth, GA; and sisters, Pam Wolfe DeBruhl (Kim) of Asheville, Jamie Wolfe Wilson of Candler, and Tammy Wolfe Cutshall (Lloyd) of Leicester. He also had 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will celebrate Gary’s life during a private service at a later date. They wish to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the CarePartners Solace Center for their compassionate care.
