Frank Stewart Stamps

Frank Stewart Stamps, 88, of Asheville passed away peacefully on August 22, 2018 at the Crossings at Reynolds Mountain.  Born December 23, 1929 in Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late Douglas and Fran Stamps.  Through his lifetime he had resided in Nashville, TN, Cleveland, OH, Fanwood, NJ, and Salem, NC before moving to Asheville, NC.  He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and was employed with both the American Can Company and James River Paper Company before retiring.  He was very active in both Habitat for Humanity and the Lions Club, and was an avid golfer and bridge player.   In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Burk Stamps, and brother, Douglas K. Stamps Jr.  Surviving are his sons, William “Ken” Stamps and his spouse, Allison Jordan, of Asheville, NC, and Michael Stamps and his spouse, Lorry Smith, of Bloomfield Hills, MI; grandsons, Austin K. Stamps and Alex Stamps both of Asheville.  No services are scheduled at this time.
