Frank Donald Briggs

Frank Donald Briggs, 55, of Burnsville passed away suddenly on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home. Born April 10, 1965, he was lifelong native of Yancey County and was a son of Frank Martin Briggs and Minnie Ogle both of Burnsville. He was a graduate of Mountain Heritage High School class of 1983 and was employed at Glen Raven Mills in Burnsville. Being one with nature was one of his favorite things in life. It didn’t matter if he was casting a line for a trout, hunting for a 10-point buck, or just taking an afternoon horseback ride he loved being in the great outdoors and being close to his Lord. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his spouse, Kay Briggs of Burnsville; daughters, Holly Wilson and her spouse, Austin, Jessica Shelton, Julie Mendez, and Haleigh Morales all of Burnsville; step-children, Daniel Moss and Margaret Penland both of Burnsville; siblings, Benny Briggs and his spouse, Rose, of Spruce Pine, and Donna Fox and her spouse, Franklin, and Sharron Woody all of Burnsville; 8 grandchildren, Hunter and Harper Wilson, Brandon, Tyler, and Travis Shelton, Candice Byrd, and Jordan and Brionna Moss; and a wonderful great grandchild, Nevaeh Moss.
