Frances Smith Jones Obituary

Frances Jones, 85, of Raleigh, NC, passed away September 5, 2022, at the Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Frances spent her adult life in Raleigh and was raised in Selma, NC. She is the daughter to the late Deems Edgar Smith and Willie A. Carter. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Smith; sisters, Violet Radford, Margaret Barnhill and Shirley Whitley.

Surviving Frances are her daughters, Pam Faerber (Summer Greene) of Weaverville, NC, Vicki Perry (William) of Raleigh, NC, Jeannie Bolton (Kerry) of Leander, TX, and Angie Bruley of Lascassas, TN; granddaughter, Gena Goldtrap (Chris) of Weaverville; grandsons, Evan Bolton (Kara), Adam Bolton, Bryson Bolton of Leander, TX; grandsons, Phillip Bruley of Weaverville, NC, Jacob Bruley (Ashley) of LaVergne, TN and Ryan Bruley of Murfreesboro, TN; and 6 great grandchildren, Johnathan, Gabriel, Rowen, River, Ryder, and Terra. Also surviving is her loving dog, Bentley.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Raleigh Memorial Park Chapel in Raleigh on October 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.

The family would like to give special thanks to Care Partners Solace staff, Seniors Helping Seniors of Wake Forest with special recognition to Alicia, Melissa, Basimah, and Kathy. Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald House of Durham and Wake County in lieu of flowers.
