Frances Colleen Bailey Creson, age 83, of Asheville, NC, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. A native of Asheville, she was born on January 25, 1943, to the late Paul King Bailey and Elsie Viola Cates Bailey. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Richard Bailey, and her sister, Sarah Robinson.
A graduate of Biltmore High School and A.B. Technical Community College, Frances dedicated her life to the care of others. Her compassionate spirit was shown through her work with children at the Irene Wortham Center and her service as a CNA at Mission Hospital. A faithful member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, she found great joy in the simple beauties of life—sewing, knitting, crocheting, and crafting jewelry. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, who remained the center of her world.
Colleen is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Doug Creson. Her legacy continues through her sons, Mack Creson (Wife Jo) of Leicester and Myron Creson (Wife Dee) of Fairview; her grandchildren, Alicia Owens (Husband Danny), Megan Searcy (Husband Andrew), Tyler Michael (Wife Cam), and Brandon Creson; and five beloved great-grandchildren: Lex, Noah, Michael, Leela, and Gunnar.
A celebration of Colleen’s life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Beverly Hills Baptist Church, with Reverend Buddy Corbin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 PM. Condolences may be shared at ashevilleareaalternative.com.
