Esta Lena Wessolleck

Esta Lena Wessolleck, 84, of Weaverville, NC passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at her home.

Esta was born on June 23, 1940 in Barnardsville, NC to the late Dorothy McKinney Ray (2008). She is preceded in death by her grandma, Flossie Ray McKinney; grandpa, James Rufus; aunts, Neva Littrell and Daphna Moss; and uncles, Junior and Wiley Littrell.

Esta was passionate about the Lord and gospel music. She also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds fly, the deer graze, and the flowers bloom. Esta loved her family greatly.

Surviving Esta is her husband, Wolfgang Rainer Wessolleck of 42 years; son, Allen Israel of Leicester, NC; daughters, Betty Owenby (Jerry) of Weaverville, NC and Donna Moore of Leicester, NC; stepson, Jason Wessolleck (Michelle) of Fletcher, NC; sister, Barbara Bagwell (Earl) of Woodland, TN; brothers, Bruce Ray (Carolyn) of Enka, NC, Robert Ray (Dean) of Paris, TN, Michael Ray of Greenville, SC, and Tracy Ray (Joyce) of Paris, TN; grandsons, Travis Gowing of Weaverville, NC, Matthew Parham (Candis) of Fairview, NC; Stephen Israel (Alicia) of Fletcher, NC, Timothy Israel (Jennifer of Lancaster, SC, and Jonathan Parham of Leicester, NC; 12 great grandchildren; 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and aunt Ena Littrell.

A service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Owenby Family Cemetery located at 598 Barnardsville Hwy Weaverville, NC 28787. The service will be officiated by Stephen Israel.
