Erlene "Nana" Millican Madden

Erlene "Nana" Millican Madden, 78, of Brevard, NC, went home to be with the Lord in the late hours of October 14, 2023, while she was surrounded by her family.
Erlene was born on September 30, 1945 in Virginia to the late Charles Lemuel Millican Sr. and Norma Elizabeth Shanahan Millican. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Charles L. Millican Jr. 
Erlene was a beloved lady who made everyone feel special and important.  From the minute she knew you, her goal was to make sure you knew Jesus as your Savior.  She faithfully prayed, encouraged, nurtured and cared for everyone who was blessed to know her.  Her warm personality and caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.  Her laughter was infectious, and her smile was contagious.  Nana paid remarkable attention to detail and was always willing to help others.  She was a true servant for the Lord.  Nana’s family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.  Her kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
 Surviving Erlene is her loving husband of 57 years, Edwin Howell Madden ; son, Eddie Madden (Dawn) of Elizabethtown, NC; daughter, Beth Garber (Bill) of Brevard, NC; honorary son, Adam Schultz of Charlotte, NC; brother, Arthur Millican (Phyllis); grandsons, Brennan Kinsey (Sarah) of Cashiers, NC, Elliott Madden of Elizabethtown, NC, Lance Kinsey of Brevard, NC, Emory Madden of Elizabethton, NC; granddaughters, Jacqueline Ray (Peter) of Elizabethtown, NC, Abigail Madden of Elizabethtown, NC; great grandsons, Archie Ray, Walter Ray; many nieces, nephews, and “bonus” sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held October 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Enon Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest, NC with visitation starting at 11:00 AM.
