Obituary
Eric Daniel Wood, 23, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC. Born November 2, 1998, in Rochester, NY, he was the son of Daniel Joseph Wood of Rochester, NY, and Angie Lynne Aurand of Waynesville, NC. He was a graduate of Central Haywood High School class of 2018. Some of his hobbies were gem mining, wetting a fishing line in the stream, being in the great outdoors, and taking care of God’s creatures which included his pet crows. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joleen Aurand. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Ian Wood of Rochester, NY; grandparents, Susan Evans and her spouse, Blake, of Waynesville, NC, Jeffery Aurand of Lewistown, PA; aunt, Rhonda Raxter and her significant other, Josh Treadway, of Canton, NC; uncle, Jeffrey Aurand Jr. of Waynesville, NC; cousins, Brianne Raxter and Jeffrey Aurand III; and his canine companion, Raven. Services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Eric's honor to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.
