Eileen Margaret “Catherine” Leddy Smith

Eileen Margaret “Catherine” Leddy Smith, age 82, of Asheville, NC passed away on May 3rd, 2025 at the Solace Center in Asheville, NC.  Eileen was born in New York City, NY on October 22, 1942 to the late William A. Leddy and Helen McNamara Leddy. 

Eileen is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Roger L. Smith.  She is survived by her daughter, Maureen H. Minder, of Asheville, NC; her sister, Maureen Honigman (Denis Honigman), of Coram, NY; her grandchild, Collin Minder, of Sherman, TX; her nieces and nephews, Eileen Fioto (Chris Fioto), of Selden, NY, Colleen Pizzo (Rob Pizzo), of Rocky Point, NY, Christopher Honigman (Jackie Honigman), of Melbourne, FL, Kaitlyn Fioto, Christopher Fioto, Ella Pizzo, Haley Pizzo, and Kelsey Pizzo.  She is also survived by her devoted friend, Diane Roberts, of Denver, CO. 

 A special thanks to CarePartners, Solace Center and visiting Angels for the exceptional care, love, and companionship they gave her at home and hospice. A burial will take place in Asheville NC at later date. 

Donations in her honor to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue and St Jude’s Research Hospital are encouraged.
