Edward Hofer, Jr., passed away on November 30, 2021 at the age of 66 in Asheville, North Carolina.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diana Hofer, and his two daughters, Dana Hofer and Dani Hofer. He was the beloved son to his late parents, Edward Hofer, Sr. and Nadyne Hofer, and brother to his late sister Christine McClellan and surviving sister, Candace Hofer.
Ed by nature was very creative and artistic. After successfully running his own graphic design studio for 25+ years, Ed retired early to the mountains with his wife. Inspired by nature, he transitioned his creative abilities into paintings which were featured in galleries across the country. An extraordinary artist, Ed’s paintings brought color into your life. While everything he created was one of a kind, his work truly shined in his dog paintings. As an avid dog lover, he was able to capture a dog’s personality on canvas. He generously donated original dog paintings to various charitable auctions to support national dog organizations.
Some of Ed’s most enjoyable moments were being a sports fan (hockey in particular), loved adventures on his Harley Davidson trike, spending time boating, and enjoying his favorite meal of all, homemade cherry pies. Above all, the times he cherished the most were spent out on the softball fields where he was the head coach for both his daughters growing up. He truly loved mentoring his players on the game and life.
Ed will have a private service with immediate family in North Carolina and laid to rest in Florida. In the spirit of Ed, please consider donating to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
