Dorothy Jane Crowell

Dorothy Jane “Dot” Lytle Crowell, 92, of Weaverville, NC. passed away August 3, 2022 at Smokey Ridge Health and Rehabilitation.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her father, John Lytle Sr.; mother, Jackie Morris Lytle; husband, Richard's "Dick" Crowell; son, Robert Michael Roberts; and daughter, Renee Cecilia Roberts.

Dorothy was born in Buncombe County and went to West Buncombe High School (class of 1949). She was an avid seamstress and quilter. Dorothy loved to cook and she sold raffle tickets at “Shindig on the Green”. She loved working with her church: Salem Methodist Church, to feed veterans and homeless teenagers.

Surviving Dorothy is her son, Dr. Wm. Edward Roberts (Julie) of Newland, NC; daughter, Michelle Roberts of Weaverville, NC; grandson, Clayton Roberts (Jessica) of Bakersville, NC, Gavin McCulloch of Weaverville, NC; granddaughter, Morgan McCulloch Robinson of Weaverville, NC; and 5 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held August 14, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Salem Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to ABCCM-Transformation Village.
