On Monday, March 2nd, 2020, Donald Allen
Brewer, or Don Brewer, as most knew him
as, passed away at the age of 65 years old,
at his sister’s residence in Asheville, North
Carolina. Don was a loving father to his 5
children, a dutiful older brother, an amazing
Papo, and a friend to many.
Donald Allen Brewer was born in Asheville,
N.C. on March 3rd, 1954. He was preceded
in death by his father, mother and sister,
Donald Wilson Brewer, Patricia Allen
Brewer and Patricia Suzanne Brewer. Don
was a natural born Appalachia Mountain
man turned Texas Lake Pirate. One of
Don's favorite places to be was his
hometown of Asheville, N.C. He found
peace in nature, a kind of peace that always
brought him full circle with whatever his
life’s journey was like at that time. Don
loved being on the water. Albeit a river,
lake, swimming hole, or waterpark. Don
Brewer loved nature and enjoyed every
waking minute that he had, to be in the
Great Outdoors. Don was a simple man; he
loved his family immensely and would do
whatever he could to help them, he loved to
work hard so that he could play hard, he
loved being on a lake with Big Blue (his
boat), and enjoyed spending his weekends
with his fellow lake lovers out at Goat
Island, on Lake Fort Worth in Texas. Donald
Allen Brewer built entire relationships
around nature; his brother and sister, his
children, and grandchildren, as well as
many of his friends can all attest to this
statement.
Don is survived by his sister Beth Fender,
brother Michael Brewer, his ex-wife Priscilla
Brewer, his children; Laura Woolsey,
Donnie Brewer, James Brewer, Sara
Rothrock, and Rebecca Brewer. As well as
11 Grandchildren, and many nieces and
nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
