Dolores "Dee" (Merck) Porter

Dolores “Dee” Merck Porter, 80, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at her home. Born January 10, 1944 in Fulton County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Barnell Merck and Margaret Elizabeth Plunckett Merck. Dee was retired from the Grove Park Inn after 25 years of service, and enjoyed doing word searches and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Porter; brother, Clarence Merck Jr.; and daughter, Margaret Kosa. Surviving are her children, Robert Porter, of Asheville, Deborah Buckner of Asheville, Robin “Dianne” Morales and her spouse, Antonio Morales Jr, of Leicester, NC, and Donna Porter of Asheville; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren and one on the way. A very special thanks to Medi Home Hospice and nurses for in home care. No formal services will be held at this time.
