Dennis R. Beck

Dennis R. “Betto” Beck, 75, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Born May 3, 1951 in Haywood County, NC, he was a son of the late Jim and Beulah Beck. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was an engineer of explosives most of his life. He was devout in his Baptist faith and enjoyed reading, fast cars, firearms, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Johnny, Tom, Charlie, Fred, Frank, Jim, Harriet, Jane, Martha, and Georgia Mae Beck. He is survived by his loving spouse of 54 years, Janice Beck; grandchildren, nephew, Lonnie; nieces, Fredia and Christine; and many other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Janice Ammons and Brandon Plemmons. No services are scheduled at this time. His final resting place will be at the Western Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
