OFFICIAL OBITUARY FOR

Debra Allyn (Brock) Stewart

1956 - 2021

OBITUARY Print

Debra Brock Stewart passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of April 11, 2021. Debra
was 64 years old.

Born in Columbia, SC on May 17, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Allan E. Brock and Nancy
Hensley Brock. She was the oldest of four girls.

She was a 1974 graduate of Thomas Hart Academy. Debra worked as an administrative assistant in both
churches and schools. She loved helping others, and in both church and school, she thrived while
serving God and children.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Myles Alexander; her grandchildren, Audrey
Alexander, Preston Alexander, and Carys Alexander; her sisters Vicki Brock Arthur, Leanne Brock
Reynolds, and Kimberly Brock Dunn; her stepfamily, her aunt and uncle and numerous nieces, nephews,
and cousins.

Debra was first and foremost a daughter of Christ. Her faith guided her, and as the end came near, she
did not fear death. She was a life-long follower of Christ and kept learning and growing in her faith until
the very end. One of her most beautiful experiences was her time at Mepkin Abbey, where she
participated in a spiritual retreat with the monks. Debra demonstrated to us how to live like Christ, and
her desire for each of us is to do the same.
