David Adams, 70, of Weaverville passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home. Born on February 18, 1954 in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Johnny and Dorothy Adams. David was a certified machinist and had proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed gem mining, NASCAR and watching college football. He loved to cook and grill for his family, and enjoyed spoiling his grandkids. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death siblings, Jim, Kiawanis, Darrell, Albert, John, and Phylis. Surviving are his children, Billie Jo George (Amanda McFalls) of Mars Hill, NC, Melissa Kay Adams (Chris Sommer) of Weaverville, NC, Clay Shepherd (Sherry) of Erwin, TN, and grandchildren, Natasha Adams of Asheville, NC, Ryley Sommer and Tanner Sommer both of Weaverville, NC. No formal services will be held at this time. " God has you in his hands so you can rest now. You were a fighter til the end surviving cancer twice but losing the battle the third round. We have always seen you as the strong-willed figure, the hardworking, no nonsense, and straight forward man full of life’s knowledge you lived. Thank you for showing us how to be strong in this world. Dad we love you.”, from his children.
