Darrell John Jones

Darrell John Jones, 79, of Candler, NC, passed away Monday, October 18th, 2021. Darrell was born November 20th, 1941 in Clifftop, WV. To the late Bud and Thelma Jones. He is also proceeded in death by his brother, Sonny Jones. Darrell graduated from WCU. Darrell loved to play basketball and softball. He was a member of the Street-Tiques of Asheville and was always tinkering with classic cars. Darrell retired from Steelcase and worked at American Enka. He was presently working at Walmart. Surviving Darrell is his wife, Marilyn Jones, of Asheville, NC; sister Jean O’Neal of Crossville, TN; daughters, Kim (Larry) Cox of Leicester, NC, Deana Blausen of Candler, NC, and Misty Jones of Mars Hill, NC; sons, Jimmy (Lynn) Jones of Eddyville, KY and DJ (Tara) Jones of Candler, NC. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The family will be planning a private memorial at a later date and are receiving friends at their individual homes.
