Dannie Ray Kay, 67, of Candler, NC, passed away on November 2, 2024 at the Charles George VA Hospital Valor Hospice Center in Asheville, NC.
Dannie was born February 18, 1957 in Haywood Co, NC, to the late James Ivan Kay and Pauline Wines Kay. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Vicky Lynn Kay and brother, Edward Kay. He proudly served our country in the US Army. Surviving Dannie is his son, Danny R. Kay of Candler, NC; daughters, Brittney Coxwell, (Mathew) of Rutherfordton, NC, Leslie R. Warren (Daniel) of Hendersonville, NC, Brandie N. Kay of Arden, NC; sisters, Tammy Kay (Steve) of Claymont, DE, Rose Shepherd (Mack) of Candler, NC; grandsons, Michael D. Revis (Anna) of Marion, NC, Neko K. Masiello of Arden, NC, Levi Coxwell of Rutherfordton, NC, Isaiah Coxwell of Rutherfordton, NC, Jacob Warren of Hendersonville, NC; granddaughters, Shelby Warren of Hendersonville, NC, Hannah Warren of Hendersonville, NC; and great grandson, Beau M. Revis of Marion, NC.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa, NC. The family would like to give a special thank you to the VA facility for their continued support to active and non active military, and to the staff of Asheville Area Alternative for showing the upmost compassion and dedication during a difficult time.
