Clyde Edward Wooten passed away after a long illness at home on August 11, 2024, at the age of 73 . Clyde was born on January 4, 1951, to parents Graham Dewey Wooten and Margaret Jones Wooten Cable who preceded him in death along with his sister Judy Romine; mother-in-law Rhea Jackson; brother-in-law Tommy Jackson, and Bill Hursey. Clyde graduated from Asheville High School in 1970. He joined the Army after school, did basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and served 8 years in the Army Reserve. Clyde retired from Norfolk Southern Railway with 34 years of service. He loved golf, hunting, and his Harley. He was a proud father and grandfather. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 46 years Elaine Jackson Wooten; daughters Chantell Wooten (Jason Grogan), and Shannon Wooten Boles (Russell); and his beloved grandsons, Tyler and Jackson Boles, who brought a smile to his face, and a tug to the heart with a hug and kiss and "I love you G" when they came to visit him and before they left; sisters, Mary Hursey of Ohio, Patricia W. Earwood (Gene) of Asheville NC; brothers, Graham Wooten (Carrie) of Washington State, Jimmy Wooten of Asheville, NC; Sister-in-laws Betty Driver (Dave), Ilena Carpenter; His Ohio family whom he loved dearly and spent many happy times with, Danny, Kimberly, Nick, Mark (Dana) Lisa, David, and Billy; nieces, Emily, Keaton, Chasity, Margaret and Melanie; nephews, Bill, Milton, and Ethan Earwood, who made time for his "Uncle Bubbles "with his visits and stories; his closest friend Terry Moore who called every Monday at 7 pm. Clyde requested no services at this time. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts can be sent to Four Seasons Foundation, 211 N. Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792, or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the amazing caregivers Beth and Sarah of Four Seasons Hospice, for the excellent care that was given.
