Clyde Williams Obituary

Clyde Jeffrey Williams 66, went home to be with the lord on February 7,2024 surrounded by his family.

Jeff, as he was known by, was a native of Buncombe County. Born, November 23, 1957 to the late Clyde James Williams and Betty Jean Elkins, he attended Asheville High School. He was an employee of 15 years with Kennerly Oil Company where he drove an oil tanker. Later, he was an employee of Ingles Markets where he served as Produce Manger.

He is preceded in death by his grandson Dylon Williams.

Jeff was avid fan of any kind of racing, especially NASCAR. His love of racing took him all over to different tracks to cheer on his favorite driver #3 Dale Earnhardt. There wasn’t a Sunday that went by that he wasn’t track side or watching it on the big screen. Jeff loved the outdoors as well. He loved going camping, hunting and fishing. He loved to be in any stream, river or lake catching fresh trout or bass while listening to his favorite southern rock band. But most of all Jeff loved to be with his family, kids and grandkids.

Jeff gave in death as he gave in life. His final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. In doing this, 3 recipients have received lifesaving transplants.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Patricia Williams of Candler, 2 daughters, Jennifer Surrett (Junior) of Marshall, Keisha Chambers (Chris) of Candler, 1 son Jeffrey Williams (Jordon)of Candler, 2 sisters, Sharon Robinson (Bobby)of Asheville, Susan Coleman (David) of Canton, 2 brothers Tim Williams (Patty)of Asheville, and Keith Williams of Candler. 3 grandsons, Dakota Surrett (Kelsea)of Marshall, Connor Chambers and Hank Chambers both of Candler. 3 granddaughters, Savannah Tapper (Jack)of Hickory, Ashley Williams (Clarence) of Marshall, Chelsea Williams (Ben) of Weaverville. 5 great-grand kids and many nieces and nephews.
