Clara Nelli Dean Banks Grindstaff

Clara Nelli Dean Banks Grindstaff, age 75, of Asheville, NC passed away surrounded by friends and family on October 27, 2025 at Mission Hospital of Asheville, NC.  Clara was born in Buncombe County on February 25, 1950 to the late Edward Leroy Banks Sr. and Adele Lura Cannon Banks.  Clara was a cashier at her local convenience store.  She loved reading the Bible.
Clara is preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Mae Sherlin Banks.  She is survived by her children, Keith Grindstaff (Susan), of Candler, NC, Donna Grindstaff, of Rogue River, OR, Roy Grindstaff (Tracy) of Mill Springs, NC, and Teresa Roberts (Bo), of Asheville, NC.  She is also survived by her brothers, Roy Banks (Janette), of Candler, NC and Billy Banks (Renee), of Asheville, NC, as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private family burial will take place at Green Hill Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held at 12 Waynes Branch, Candler, NC 28715 on November 9th, 2025 from 4 PM - 6 PM.
