Charlotte Ellen Mulloy Keathley, 84, of Asheville, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her home.
Charlotte was born in Anthony, New Mexico on January 5, 1936 to the late Albert Wyche Mulloy and Elva Vela Sharp Mulloy. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Nowlin "Tookie" Keathley; sisters, Eloise Amos, and Mildred Brooks; brothers, Wayne Mulloy, Nathan Mulloy, Gerald Mulloy, and Fred Mulloy.
Charlotte graduated from Gadsden High School in Anthony, New Mexico. She worked as a clerk for many years for the El Paso Independent School District. She lived much of her adult life in El Paso, TX until ill health necessitated her move to Asheville to live with her daughter and be closer to her son. In the last few years of her life, she loved listening to live music, meeting new people, and telling them that she liked their smile.
Surviving is her son, John Calvert "Cal" Keathley (Carol) of Simpsonville, SC; daughter, Sarah "Joyce" Brown (Andrew "Andy") of Asheville, NC; granddaughters, Savanna Brown of Asheville, NC and Addison Brown of Asheville, NC; and great grandson, Jaden Miller of Asheville, NC. She had many beloved nieces and nephews, but 3 were like sisters to her: Joyce Post, Dorothy Espedal, and Karen Patterson.
Memorial services will be held in Asheville and El Paso at times still to be determined.
