Cameron Lee Hilton, age 56, of Asheville passed away peacefully at his home on December 27, 2024. He was born June 26, 1968 in Asheboro, North Carolina, the son of the late Lowell Dorsett Hilton and the late Phyllis Poole Hilton. Born and raised in Randolph County, NC, he had lived for the past 18 years in Asheville, NC. Cameron was a Jehovah’s Witness.
After graduating from Southwestern Randolph High School in Asheboro, North Carolina in 1986, he received his Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from Randolph Community College in 1989. For the past 12 years, he has been employed with Apple, most recently as a T2 iOS Technical Support Advisor. He loved his job, and customers appreciated his pleasant personality. Cameron was admired by his work family, where he kept them laughing in group chats.
He loved fishing, gaming, building computers from scratch, collecting model cars, and in his spare time he loved taking long drives out to stargaze along the Blue Ridge Parkway. He had a great sense of humor, and he brightened a lot of lives.
In addition to his parents, Cameron was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Troy & Thelma (Hall) Hilton; maternal grandparents Edward & Annie (Reeder) Poole; maternal Aunt Sharon (Poole) Lowry; and first cousin Caleb Lowry.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Janean Hilton Henley and Heather Hilton of Seagrove, NC; paternal Aunt Doris Fogleman (Joel) of Whitsett, NC; maternal Uncle Frank Lowry of Seagrove, NC; first cousin Stacey Lowry Hussey (James); several cousins and extended family, his Apple work family, neighbors and lots of friends.
A private family service was held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa, North Carolina.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Sergeant Murray and Officer Garcia of the Asheville Sheriff’s Department. Special thanks also to long-time neighbors and friends Linda Waites (including Brenda, Zoe and Lauren) and Connie Young.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter, as Cameron loved his dog Odie, and all fur-babies.
