Bulah Coates, 74, of Mars Hill passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. Born June 2, 1949 in Madison County, he was a son of the late Harley and Robbie Coates. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Boyd Coates, Floyd Coates; sisters, Eula Ann Coates, and Ola Mae Roberts. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Coates; son, Shawn D. Coates of Mars Hill; grandson, Trevor Coates of Mars Hill; 7 siblings; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
