Brandy Lotter Altman, age 32, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away January 21, 2020. Brandy was born in Denver, CO on January 7, 1988. She received a B.S.W. degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a M.S.W. degree in Social Work from East Tennessee State University in 2019.
Brandy overcame many difficulties growing up to become an adult with a huge heart and the ability to love without limits. While in Denver, Brandy operated an animal rescue, where she saved creatures of all sizes and shapes . . . from cats and dogs to chickens and squirrels! The Denver rescue was so typical of Brandy, who always looked for ways to help anybody or anything in need. She shined her light brightly and touched the lives of so many.
Brandy is survived by her loving wife, Peggy Altman, her precious parents, Albert and Annie Lotter, and three beautiful foster children that Brandy adored. Also surviving are her grandmother, Mrs. Irene Libick of Hamilton, MT, and brothers Stephen Meyers of Phoenix, AZ and Colton Meyers of Golden, CO, plus countless friends and many extended family members.
Brandy was employed by the Women’s Recovery Center of Asheville, where she loved working and had many great friends. Her family asks that, in lieu of flowers, those who may wish to consider a remembrance of Brandy, please consider the Women’s Recovery Center, 723 Fairview Road, Asheville, NC 28803 or Land of the Sky United Church of Christ, 15 Overbrook Place, Asheville, NC 28805.
A service celebrating the life of Brandy Altman will be held Saturday morning, January 25, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Land of the Sky United Church of Christ, 15 Overbrook Place in Asheville. Pastor Sara Wilcox will officiate at the service, which will be followed by a reception in the parish hall. All who wish to visit are warmly invited to attend.
