Benzion Biber, "Benny", 73, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away on May 23rd, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cirrhosis. Born in Willimantic, Connecticut on January 30th, 1949, he was the son of the late Jacob and Eva Biber of Norwich, Connecticut and Pembroke Pines, Florida. Benny grew up in Norwich, and was a graduate of the Roosevelt School in Stamford, Connecticut, class of 1967. Ben moved to Asheville, where he built several successful businesses, the last of which, BZ Kids, was named one of America's fastest growing companies by Forbes Magazine. He was also a philanthropist, pioneering a program that provided resources to help kindergartners across North Carolina learn their ABC's through interactive puzzles. He was well known for being charismatic, compassionate, and most of all charming. He had an inspiring presence capable of illuminating the darkest of moments. Beloved by family & friends alike, Ben was always available for advice and conversation. He loved creativity in all forms and helped to promote it across several mediums. An avid dreamer full of rich ideas and inventive satire. He leaves behind his beloved children, Seth David and Nikita, and his adored grandchildren, Seth Jacob and Brooklyn Sadie, as well as his brothers Hyman and Joseph Biber of Norwich, Connecticut, and their extended families. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations to your charity of choice in Benny’s honor are welcomed.
