Barbara Louise Swayne

Barbara Louise Swayne, 67, of Asheville passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at her home. Born July 25, 1957 in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Louise Swayne Jr. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of New Orleans She was passionate about her teaching career and spoke fondly of her students long after she left the classroom. Barbara had a creative side as she enjoyed playing her guitar, sketching, and painting custom canes/walking sticks. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Robert John Swayne III. Surviving are her cousins, Mary G. McInnis and family from New Orleans, LA/ Orlando, FL, Robyn G. Cooperman and family of Orlando, FL, Patrice G. Willard and family of New Orleans, LA /Jacksonville, FL, and her longtime friend, Martha B. Robinson of New Orleans, LA. A memorial will be held at a later date in both Asheville, NC and New Orleans, LA.
