It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Asa Cainnech Johnson, 19, later known as Adeline Claire Johnson. Born on October 21st, 2005, in Durham, North Carolina, and deceased on April 25, 2025, in Asheville, North Carolina, her life was a testament to the power of curiosity and courage. Her greatest hope was to pass on her boundless curiosity to the next generation, sparking a love of learning and exploration that would stay with them forever.
With an insatiable thirst for knowledge and understanding, Adeline inspired those around her with her unique ability to dig deep into complex questions. Her bravery and spirit forged a path through unique difficult challenges, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Adeline leaves behind a family that loved her deeply: father John, sister Abegael, stepmother Sherri, mother Katharine Alana, and grandmother Katrina Gettman. She was preceded in death by grandparents Mildred Johnson (1994), Robert Gettman (2015), Thomas Johnson (2017), and Lois Johnson (2019).
We take comfort in knowing Adeline's spirit remains with us, guiding us to continue exploring, seeking answers, and making a difference in the world. Rest in peace, dear Adeline. Your curiosity and courage will never be forgotten.
