Anne Margaret Prather Boone

Anne Margaret Prather Boone, 65, of Swannanoa, NC, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Anne was born June 2,1960 in Chicago, IL to the late Thomas A Prather and Lois G Prather. She lived in Glen Ellyn, IL but spent her formative years in Tupelo, Mississippi and graduated from Tupelo High School. Anne then moved to Swannanoa, NC. where she remained for over 30 years.

Anne had a great love for animals and nature; she was always surrounded by dogs and cats. She also had a love of gardening that she inherited from her parents. Anne enjoyed motorcycles and spent a number of years working in Motorclothes shipping and receiving at Gene Lummus Harley-Davidson.  She also spent a number of years running her own business in the Boone, Banner Elk area of North Carolina servicing rentals within the ski industry.
Anne had a great love for her family and friends and her friend network is wide and vast. Every person she met became her friend for life.

Surviving Anne is her loving husband of 16 years, Jerome Malcolm Boone (Mal); her brother, Tom Prather of Houston, TX; and a stepdaughter, Amber Brejack (John); and also a step grandson, Cole Brejack of Candler, NC.

The family would like to give special thanks to Becky for her loving care and support throughout most of her COPD illness.

A family and friends' gathering will be held at a future date in a private memorial.
