Alvin "Gene" Eugene Davis

Alvin Eugene “Gene” Davis, 82, of Candler, NC, passed away January 29, 2025 at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Gene was born in Haywood County, NC. He is preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Minnie Harkins Davis. Gene is a 1960 graduate of Bethel High School. He honorably served our country in the US Air Force. Gene worked for Southern Bell/ Bellsouth and was a proud CWA supporter. He loved working outside; if it wasn’t raining then he could be found outdoors.

Surviving Gene is his loving wife of 58 years, Vicki Davis; daughters, Regenea Voorhees (Louis) of Greenville, SC, Becki Davis of Candler, NC; grandchildren, Luke, Davis, and Maggie Voorhees; special nieces, Kelli Harris (Brad) of Taylors, SC, Jaime Daniel (John) of Greer, SC; sister-in-law, Patti Roberts (Tollie) of Taylors, SC; and 5 special great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
