It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan Campbell Gordon, age 65, who left us peacefully on January 11, 2025. Born on March 12, 1959, Alan was a true testament to resilience and the power of unconditional love.
From birth, Alan faced signi*cant challenges due to a severe disability. Doctors predicted he would not live to see his teenage years. However, through the unwavering devotion and care of his loving parents, Celia and Charles Gordon, he de*ed all odds and lived a long and meaningful life that touched all who met him.
Alan spent many joyful days at the Irene Wortham Center, a place where he was able to spread his light. Known for his innocence and pure-hearted nature, he brought joy and a renewed sense of appreciation for life to everyone he encountered. His unique way of experiencing the world reminded us all of the beauty in simplicity and the importance of kindness and care.
Though his time with us has come to an end, he will remain in our hearts forever. He is survived by his mother, Celia Gordon of Candler, NC, his father, Charles Gordon of Candler, NC, and his brother John Gordon of Candler, NC who will continue to cherish his memory and celebrate the life he lived. Alan was predeceased by his grandparents, H.L. Gordon, Lillian Gordon, G.A. Campbell, and Elizabeth Campbell.
