Aaron McKinnly Jackson, age 57, passed away on June 1, 2026, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Buncombe County, North Carolina, on June 18, 1968, he was the son of Norma Dale Bartlett Jackson and the late Clyde McKinnly Jackson. For the past 13 years, Aaron resided in Tryon, North Carolina, and spent meaningful time as a resident of The Lighthouse Group Home.
Aaron spent many fulfilling years working at local workshops for individuals with disabilities until his health began to decline. He was a cherished member of Little Mountain Baptist Church in Tryon. Aaron found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: going out to eat, enjoying a cup of coffee, taking long car rides, and watching television. Above all else, he loved spending quality time with his mother, his late father, and his brother, Scott. Aaron was deeply loved by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Norma Jackson of Fletcher, NC; and his devoted brother, Timothy Scott Jackson, also of Fletcher, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Jackson, and his sister, Bethany Cutshaw.
A memorial service to celebrate Aaron's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Oak Forest Baptist Church, located at 484 Jackson Road, Fletcher, NC.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt, special thanks to Uncle Bob, Aunt Joan, Aunt Rhonda, as well as many other family members, friends, and everyone who loved and cared for Aaron throughout his life. They also extend their deep appreciation to Asheville Area Alternative for their compassionate assistance.
