Penny Sowell Fouraker

Penny Sowell Fouraker, 66, of Hickory, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Born on February 10, 1952 in Manhattan, KS, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Donna Sowell. She was a graduate of Manhattan H.S. class of 1970, and in 2006 she founded Unifour Floral Wholesale in Hickory where she served as both owner and operator until her illness. Traveling and seeing the world was a passion of hers. She traveled through parts of the United States, Canada, and Europe on most occasions with her partner of 13 years, Joseph Leirer. Penny enjoyed many things in life especially animals, flowers, and nature. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Linda, Carol, Charlene, and Janiece. In addition to her longtime partner, surviving are her children, Shawn Fouraker and Brandon Fouraker both of Hickory; siblings, Deon Marion of Seacry, AR, Teana Person of Salina, KS, and Debra Wilson of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Bella, Colby, Braxton, and Lilly; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Carolina Memorial Sanctuary, 195 Blessed Way, Mills River, NC 28759.
