Nancy Hitchcock, 74, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 19, 2018, as a result of a long battle with COPD. Her cousin and dear friend, Lisa, was by her side.
Nancy was born to Dorothy W. and Lester P. White in Glens Falls, NY on January 28, 1944. She later became a model and modeling/communications instructor in Northern California before moving to Hendersonville, North Carolina after her husband’s death.
Those who knew and loved Nancy say this about her: “She was beautiful inside and out. A dear, sweet, loving soul—she was funny, gracious, an active thinker, smart, organized, spiritual, and generous to a fault.”
We will dearly miss her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Madeira; her parents, Dorothy and Lester White, and her beloved dogs, Mollie and Scooder.
She is survived by her two younger sisters and their husbands, Sandee & Jim Endahl of Butte, MT and Cathee & Greig St. Clair of Truckee, CA; by her nieces and nephews: Lauren Ashley and Eric Beecher of Glens Falls, NY, Parvati & Ryan Montgomery of Pittsburg, TX; Michael & April Stoltz and their children, Molly and Xander of Butte, MT; her cousins, Tom Wells, Debbie Purcell, Barbara D’Agostino, Dale Hartlieb, Suzanne Harris Naselli, Doug Harris, Leslie Harris Liebler, and Lisa Berg; and an abundance of her cousins’ children and grandchildren, loving friends, and devoted neighbors.
Our heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Jean Kline, Shirley Bayne, and Lisa Berg for taking such good care of Nancy and being with her constantly throughout her hospitalizations and hospice care.
