Mikel Richards Obituary

Mikel G. Richards passed away quietly in his home 4 October 2018, with his beloved wife Kathy by his side.
Born in Englewood, NJ on 30 May 1935 and spent most of his childhood in Miami, FL. After a 20 year career in the USAF; where he was a pilot and missile maintenance officer, he retired in Asheville.

He reveled in the spectacular beauty of the outdoors; enjoyed playing tennis and especially mountain biking. Many avid mountain bikers in the Asheville area have been mentored by his great passion for the sport.

Mike was adventurous. He and Kathy took motorcycle, mountain bike, canoe, kayak, and hiking trips all over North America.

He is survived by Kathy Richards, sister Janet McAliley, children Val Richards, Claire Dugoni, and predeceased by his son Matt W. Richards.
He has 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Mountain Bike Mike will be missed on the trails of Western NC; but his pedaling spirit will be forever with his friends and his loved ones.
